Metfloor 55 steel decking is a traditional dovetail re-entrant composite floor deck profile made from S350 steel. Also known as a holorib type profile. It is ideal for relatively thin slabs down to 105mm whilst still maintaining an excellent fire performance. Advantages of using the Metfloor 55 steel decking
Composite beams fire performance – Even for two hours fire rating, the top flange of the steel beam does not required fire protection when Metfloor 55 composite steel decking is used.
Concrete slabs fire performance – Due to the dovetail design which leaves a very small opening, very little heat is transferred through the concrete slab if there is a fire.
Less Concrete Usage – the Metfloor 55 requires a relatively thin slab compared to the Metfloor 60 and Metfloor 80 whilst still maintaining an excellent fire performance. This, added to the ribbed design; means less concrete usage which provides a cost saving.
Under Floor Services – Services are easy to attached to the underside of the profile, with the ribs presenting a dovetailed recessed groove in the concrete slab at 150mm centres. This provides the perfect connection for service hangar rods via a wedge nut.
Availability – Unlike other steel decking manufacturers steel decking profiles, the Metfloor 55 steel decking is readily available from our Midlands based stockyards in 0.9mm and 1.2mm thickness’s and can be cut to projects and delivered next day to sites nationwide.
Equivalents of the Metfloor 55 steel decking – RLSD Holorib Steel Decking, Kingspan MD50 steel decking, Comflor 51 steel decking.
